What is a family doctor?

I moved to the US and I always hear people say it and people recommend them here on eve when people are in situations. How do you get one? 
In the UK its not really a thing unless I've been living under a rock 🤷🏽‍♀️

Your family doctor would be your primary care doctor who you see for yearly check ups or if you need to go in for something none emergency

It’s just a general practitioner. So someone you will see most of the time. They’ll do your physicals, you will go to them when sick, and any concerns you can take to them and they can order bloodwork, refer you to a specialist, etc.

Make sure they are under your insurance. You pick them. So you don’t have to pay a lot. Make sure they are in network and accept your insurance.
