Should I be induced?

So I’m due 7/26 with baby #3. First and second both came 11 days early. I’m already past that. 3cm dilated, 75% effaced and -2 stationed. My midwife scheduled me for a membrane sweep tomorrow and induction Wednesday. I’m so on the fence about making him come though! Odd he’s being slow about arriving though when the others came early. Input??

I wouldn’t get induced unless medically there was a reason. When a doctor is suggesting one my first question would be why?? My first child came 4 days late. The next was 7 days early. I’m due on the 31st and we will just see! Every pregnancy is different. If you are on the fence, definitely discuss it with your provider. Good luck to you!!

Me too!  This is my second, first came 9 days early. Due 7/20, scheduled for induction on 7/22. At my last appointment I was 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced.  I am torn about going through with it because my labor and delivery with my son only lasted 6 hours from start to finish. I’ve heard horror stories about 36 hour inductions and I would be crazy to opt for that over a short and sweet labor a few days later. It’s so hard to know what’s best but it helps knowing I’m not alone!

I 100% would not recommend induction before 41 weeks without a medical reason. Membrane sweep, sure. Inductions on the other hand come with a lot of risks and down sides. I would do some research before an elective induction just so you can make an informed decision.

I’m kind of surprised you have a midwife who scheduled an induction at all, never mind before 41 weeks.

I’m due the 26th and planning for vbac. I think if no baby by my appt Wednesday I’ll ask for induction for Friday the 24th. Only reason I wanna induce is because we’re moving across the country August 25th. I’d rather the baby be 4 weeks than 2 weeks if I go late

Same boat! I am due the 28th. My first came at 38 weeks so my midwife was sure this one would come early too. Nope... he’s content in there! I have no idea if induction is the right decision or not either.

I was induced with my first at 39 weeks due to too much amniotic fluid, I due July 28th and am scheduled to do a membrane sweep on the 24th and if that doesn't work I have a scheduled induction for 5am on the 28th. Im really hoping the membrane sweep works. I have nothing to compare to but I have been told by many that induction contractions hurt worse than if your body does it naturally. As long as its not hurting you or the baby you could wait it out. :) best of luck and safe and healthy deliveries to both of you ladies!
