My son has already been going back to school the last couple weeks before the summer holidays started (Germany) and it’s been going great. They are taking the necessary precautions and have done a great job at explaining the kids why they need to do what and what’s going on. I am beyond relieved. My son has been doing really badly isolating at home. He’s a very emotional child who has issues with his self esteem and being alone so much has taken a major toll on him. After just a couple days of back in school he did a 180 turn again.

My son will be doing Montessori preschool in September (if he ever potty trains). There are 10 kids in his class, he’ll go three days a week, and masks are encouraged but not required for his age group. If I had older children, I’d leave it up to them. I teach for a cyber charter so I’d enroll them there if they didn’t want to go to physical school.

Nothing is set in stone yet, since my daughters’ schools start the day after Labor Day.. but they’re tossing around the idea of a split schedule. 3 days e learning, 2 days in school. But they’re also giving parents the option of doing it all online until it’s safe.. I haven’t decided yet what to do..

Here where I am school is starting. My little brother is going into 1st grade. How they are doing it is an A and B schedule. So he’s A schedule meaning he will be online Monday Tuesday and every other Wednesday then Thursday and Friday in class. The B schedules are opposite. Teachers will wear masks but as of right now not required for the kids.
