Best tablet for almost 2 year old

Im looking for a tablet to get my son for once baby number 2 gets here my son is 21 months and we think itd be a good sibling gift and would somewhat help keep him entertained while we try to adjust

It’s not a tablet but, Montessori busy boards have been shown to be very beneficial for toddlers developing fine motor skills and analytical skills. There are enough items on them to keep the kids engaged for long periods of time. There’s plenty of different ones and there are DIY designs for extra large ones too. Also, building blocks are great too.

Both of my kids ages 4 and 2 have the Amazon Kindle Kids Edition. Coming from experience, my son was 21.5 months when my daughter was born, letting them learn to adjust is helpful! It’s not always good to just shove a screen in their face to occupy them, especially in the beginning when jealousy could be a factor as well. I tried to make a conscious effort to keep my son engaged in what I was doing with the baby. When I was feeding baby, he would sit by me and sometimes help hold the bottle or at least be close by watching tv or whatever. When I would give baby a bath, he was on the counter watching and “helping”. I think it definitely helped him to not feel left out by just being like here kid play on this while I tend to the baby. Lol I’m not saying it was always butterflies and rainbows. But I think it made our adjustment period go super smooth. We never had any issues with jealousy or bad behaviors or anything like that. I’m totally pro-tablets when used in moderation, especially at such a young age. But I would just be cautious of how and what setting it is used in so it doesn’t cause your first born to feel even more segregated, If that makes sense! ☺️

Amazon Kindle Fire Kids HD8 is what we got our son at 17 months old. It's a lifesaver for our super active son who never slows down 😂 I save educational shows on it from Netflix and he does great with it! I had to get it replaced once because it suddenly stopped turning on and it was very easy with Amazon.

Tablet and case together are like 50$ including warranty. Doesn’t break the bank and after multiple drops my daughter still has yet to even scratch it!

We got our daughter a Lenovo tablet. Works fine and it’s pretty durable especially with a case and it’s not overly expensive. Got her newest one at Walmart on sale for like 70 bucks for the 8”
