Urge to pee, but can’t go? And BH Contractions

Hi mamas, I ask a ton of questions (FTM) and first of my friends! I get the urge to pee a ton, literally back to back after I first pee. I assume this is normal? Sometimes I can go though other times I can’t. Also, can we talk about BH? I’ve noticed my belly turns into a hard rock (lasts about less than a minute) but at first I always thought it was just babe’s bum/back pressing on me but now I’m thinking this is BH because I can’t “move” baby when my stomach is that tight. Note I am 35w!

So 2/3 pregnancies this happened to me and both were UTIs. Literally just took my last antibiotic because I had no idea I had a UTI and it turned into a kidney infection. If your next appointment is soon, mention what you’re experiencing! Sometimes it’s the only symptom.

Baby is probably sitting right on your bladder! Make sure when you go pee to lean forward to make sure you do completely empty your bladder!

Yes, its probably Braxton-Hicks. I usually get them after dinner time and before I go to bed they are gone. Getting more and more frequent though now that I am 37 weeks. As for the urge to pee, that is very common and means baby is probably pushing on something down there giving you the sensation you have to pee. I started like that and now it’s way worse. The pressure is insane and so painful at times it’s difficult to walk! But I still am in the bathroom literally every hour, even at night time haha can’t wait for baby to get out of there! Uncomfortable is an understatement!

The stomach tightening sounds like BH! But obviously if you’re having a lot of them start timing the frequency and duration to make sure theres not a regular pattern like regular contractions.
The urine thing I haven’t had with either pregnancy, my first thought was a UTI instead. But curious if anyone else has experienced that. I’d still bring it up to your OB cause they may want to check your urine and make sure it isn’t an infection starting.

Sounds normal, but you can certainly ask your dr. I’m 37 weeks and constantly feel like I have to pee, even after just using the bathroom. Baby is positioned on my bladder so there’s always full / pressure feeling. I’ve alsl had BH multiple times a day for months.

The pee thing sounds normal. With constant pressure on your bladder you may have a constant urge to pee but not always have to Pee. (I’ve had this happen and will sometimes get the slightest trickle).
