GBS and UTI?

Doc called with my glucose test results, normal luckily! But, apparently I have a UTI and positive for group B strep!? Anyone else have this happen before? I have no UTI symptoms.

No, but the strep b is quite common. They usually test everyone around 36 weeks for that. If you test positive,  they give you antibiotics through an IV during delivery. (As far as I know)

If you have strep B, you will test positive for UTI. Or that’s been the case with me. They’d call me every week and say I have an UTI and it’s like ummm well I have strep B so I’m pretty sure I’m all set!! Oh okay! Then same thing the next week!! Finally they put it in my charts and quit calling me. I’ve been strep B positive only 2 out of the 8 pregnancies. My first one was caught early in urine test but next one wasn’t til they actually tested for it at 36 weeks!

I had a uti last pregnancy with no symptoms. It was causing me to have contractions actually which I would never put with a uti had the hospital not said so.

I have strep b and a uti that u had no clue about! Which is crazy to me because I am prone to uti’s but I always know when I have them because I get them really bad. The doctor just gave me medication for uti and said because my strep b numbers were low, they will just treat me in labor for the strep.
