Which is better for postpartum bleeding?

I’m going shopping today for postpartum products today. Please let me know what your must haves are!

I HIGHLY recommend these. They are so soft and feel like you are wearing underwear. Plus, they come in a bunch of colors so you don't feel like a grandma wearing them. They don't feel thick at all, but hold a ton of fluid.

First few days (2-4 for me): adult diapers / heavy incontinence pads
For later: normal period pads

My hospital provided huge pads that literally felt like I had a diaper on and I used those the first few hrs and then the following day I switched to the overnight pads and currently 2 weeks pp and I'm using regular pads now as I'm only spotting

About the quantity: the nurses told me to swap them every three hours, even if they were far from soaking through, to avoid any chance of infection.
I kept to this rule for about a week and then spaced them out further. For some reason I did not prepare with an adequate amount of pads and had to send my husband to buy more a few days after coming home. Poor man called me raging when faced with the thousand different options on the shelves...
