I really didn’t know where to post this but I have a blighted ovum miscarriage. I had my second appointment today, and the doctor confirmed that the gestational sac is collapsing and that I did not actually pass everything this weekend. I had extremely strong cramping, bleeding, and passed a lot of clots yesterday, but the sac was still hanging in there. We scheduled a D&C for Wednesday.

When I got home from the ultrasound, I had another bout of extremely intense cramping. Ibuprofen didn’t help, my heating pad didn’t help, nothing worked. I went to the bathroom just now, and passed a huge clot-like thing. Because of how big it was, I reached in to pick it up, and it was extremely dense, and a purple-ish grey in color. I didn’t take a pic because I’m not that person, but I’m pretty sure it was the gestational sac.

Will they perform an ultrasound at the hospital before the procedure on Wednesday? If I passed the sac, will they still do a D&C?

(I’m still planning to go in, since there could be some residual tissue and such in there, and I feel like they’ll still want to clear it out.)
