When is the earliest your doctor will check for a heart beat?

I have 2 kids and 2 miscarriages. If i remember correctly i was always checked for a heart beat at 7 weeks but mine didnt wanna do that today. Ultrasound on friday so im not too concerned just curious

Via Ultrasound at viability scan at 7+ weeks and via Doppler at the office only 10+ weeks

I saw it on ultrasound today at 6 weeks but not with a Doppler in his office. He will check when I go back at 10 weeks

My son I didn't get to see the doctor until 8 weeks. We saw baby a couple days early because of early bleeding. I had a miscarriage right before him so my doctor approved getting my blood tested to make sure my levels were going up. This pregnancy I'm getting an ultrasound on Thursday. I'm not sure exactly how far along I am. I'm still nursing my son so I'm guessing at this point. The doctor had me come in for an appointment a couple weeks after getting the positive test.
