Is breast leaking a good sign of milk production?

Those who’ve have babies already, I’m just curious! I’ve been leaking colostrum off and on at night since 16 weeks. It’s become almost nightly now at 25 weeks. Does this mean my milk should come in quickly after birth? Anyone have any previous experience or insights about this? I’ll as at my next midwife appointment anyway but just wondering in the meantime 😊

It worked that way for me! Started leaking at 24 weeks and was able to breastfeed for 18 months.

I leaked with my first but never produced any actual milk at all so, probably not a reliable indication

I dont know but my midwife, who was previous a lactation consultant for 16 years, was super happy and excited when I told her I was leaking... I am the same bte started around 16 week (but as dry crystals mostly) and now almost every morning have some fluid. 
I dont think you need to worry about the syringe thing and "wasting" colostrum like someone else mentioned. Regardless of whether you leak it, you will be producing it until baby is born.

I didn’t leak a single drop my first pregnancy or this one so far but i nursed my daughter til she was almost two.

I’ve been told it doesn’t actually indicate anything as far as breastfeeding and your actual milk supply goes. I’ve been leaking since 20w and now at 28w I’m waking up like wet in the middle of the night, not just a couple of drops 😩

I never leaked, had a c section at 38 weeks, milk came in within 2 days and I EBF with extra to donate for 18 months. 🤷🏻‍♀️
If you’re able to collect that colostrum in a syringe definitely do, but don’t express it, as it could send you into labor.

It was for me with my first. I started leaking around 20w and was able to breastfeed her until she self weaned just before her 1st birthday.
