Crib mattress?

Question

There are so many options. Too many. 😅
I usually like to take my time and look at reviews for all my options but I'm going crazy.
I think I'm just gonna go pick one out at target that seems reasonably priced.... Lol.
Does it really matter that much? Which one did you get?

I read a few articles on the toxins and chemicals in mattresses that freaked me out. I will be going with an organic mattress to be safe. As a first time mom, everything freaks me out 😅

I got the Newton breathable crib mattress but I had a really good deal with my furniture package and it was gifted by a family member. I do feel better with the breathability of it had everything I was looking for.

We got the Eco Classica III for our first baby and plan on reusing it for new baby. It’s really nice and double sided (firm side for infant and softer side for toddler). It’s also organic and eco-friendly. Our son slept well on it and it has held up really well so it was a pretty good purchase for us.

The “mattress specialist” at buy buy baby with our first said it’s dumb to spend money on a crib mattress. We went with a random reasonably priced (I wanna say like literally $60) waterproof (plastic covered) mattress from target. 
He slept on it for two years and we just moved him to a full sized bed so we can use this one for brother. 
There are 0 signs of wear on it other than one part of the seam that has an untreated poop stain (highly recommend the waterproof so you can just wipe off the mattress with a Clorox wipe and be good to go). 
They’re so light that they’re not going to make an imprint, and when you see the weird ass places and positions your child will fall asleep in, you’ll know they could care less about the “comfort level” of their mattress. 
We just bought his full size one and out way more consideration into this one but babe will reuse the crib mattress.

I got one with crib convertible to toddler bed for free from a friend. Figured that was reasonably priced enough for me!!! Go with what you want to afford I dont think baby will hate you because of the crib mattress you decided on. At some point they mostly all function the same.
(Coming from a gal who grew up sleeping on a platform bed with a futon mattress growing up...thanks mom).

With my first I got a Millard double sided one from amazon. One side is more firm for newborn and the other softer for when they’re toddlers. Currently unavailable on amazon, so trying to decide which one I get for this baby as my toddler still loves her crib
