Birth control dilemma (HELP!)

So my friend has taken birth control for a year now that her gynaecologist has prescribed for her. Her one year trial has ended, and for a month, she has been bleeding and she has concerns so does anyone know what is happening to her or what it could be? Anything would help her sanity rn, thanks girls 💖
