6 Weeks Scan

I was feeling pretty confident the past couple weeks as my hcg was rising nicely and my symptoms started picking up (hello sore boobs!) I was a little disappointed today though because at my dating scan we weren’t able to pick up the heartbeat. We could see the yolk sac and she said she saw the fetal pole and what looked to be the heartbeat flickering but no matter how she positioned the wand we couldn’t get a great image or pick up the heartbeat. Hence the not so great pic. I know it’s early and you can’t HEAR the heartbeat usually until later but this is my second scan and my gestational sac is dating at 6 +3 and according to my cycle dates I’m 6 weeks exactly today so I was hoping to be able to walk away with a little more confidence. The doctor seemed a little less optimistic this week than last as well. Anyone else have an early scan? How did yours go?
