Stranger buying registery items?

Has anyone ever had someone they don’t know buy baby gifts for them? They purchased 4 items from our amazon registry and the name is no one we know plus the address is in a state we have 0 connections to. I’m super grateful and plan on sending a thank you to the address listed on amazon but it’s also kind of weird? I haven’t posted my registry anywhere public, I’ve only sent them on baby shower invites. None of the invites went to this state either. I also don’t think you can just scroll through registries on amazon and my husband and I have unique names.
