How many IVF (retrieval) cyles have you done??

Any problems post retrieval’s with your ovaries breasts?? Ima little traumatized with what I’ve read on doing IVF , u know cancer etc. and need some insight.. I’m going on 4thshould I considered high risk and going to OB appts every year ?? I have family who have had cancer on ovaries as well .. thanks

I had one retrieval I did mini ivf and I didn’t have OHSS or anything just very bloated and sore afterwards

If you have a family history of ovarian cancer please mention this to your RE. Depending on what the history is, you may require cancer screening at an earlier age for breast cancer (unfortunately there is no good screening for ovarian cancer at this time, but they may also recommend US surveillance as well). Again, best thing is to talk to your doctor about this. Good luck with your cycle!

No problems aside from some mild OHSS and was still able to do my transfer. Cancer never even came up during my IVF process. My understanding is although studies have shown a risk may exist, they haven’t been able to isolate that risk to fertility treatments and that it isn’t considered a scientifically significant risk. It’s really hard to study because some infertility diagnoses already come with increased cancer risks.
