Melasma - Hyperpigmentation from pregnancy

Did anyone get melasma while pregnant?

I wore SPF 60, and went in the sun about two times and got a huge brown spot on my forehead. I saw the dermatologist and she said it's melasma/hyperpigmentation from the pregnancy hormones. Sadly, I ended up miscarrying around this time.

She recommended a whitening cream, but when I researched it, it says it's not safe while pregnant/ttc even though I asked her, and she said it was! Obviously, I threw it out.

I have tried every single home remedy; nothing is lightening it.

Does anyone have any recommendations of creams that I can use while ttc that actually work?
