Swaddle and sleeping sack?

First time soon to be mom here! Question for moms-this may sound dumb..but do you use a swaddle and sleeping sack together? (The sleeping sack over the swaddle). 
My baby’s due in October and I just think about how I use so many blankets in the fall/winter to stay cozy at night! I just don’t know if it’s too much to use a swaddle and sleeper together/if it’s even safe.

She has a video highlight called Dressing Baby that is specifically about this topic. One of the doctors I work (who had a baby last year) with recommended her to me. She mostly focuses on topics to help babies sleep.

No you don’t use them together. I like to make my own swaddle as opposed to the sleep sacks. You have better control over how “tight” you want it and also what material.

I loved the zip up and Velcro swaddles but one he started rolling I switched to sacks

Whatever you choose, do not get sleep sacks or swaddles with the Velcro. They are the biggest PIA. I love the Halo ones that zip for quick, easy diaper changes. We had the Velcro sleep sacks for one whole day before my husband ran out and grabbed halo zip sleep sacks!

I actually never swaddled my first. He just wore sleeper jammies. He liked to flail his arms around so I didn't constrain him. :p

Please only use one at a time. Babies can also overheat so they only need 1 later more than you.

I always just used a halo sleep sack. Easy to use because it zippers and keeps them nice and warm! Used it for my daughter and she slept in one until she was over a year old

The Halo ones that have the swaddle attached to sleep snacks yes can go together. But typically I would use one or the other. Not all babies like the same thing so you'll have to see what works best for your little one. My first loved to be swaddled and we just did a sleeper or onsie under her swaddle wrap.

I just use a sleep sack. I hated swaddles. My daughter always managed to get out and that seemed unsafe for sleeping once it was loose. The fleece halo sleep sack works great.
