Okay sooo my son is going to be 2 at the end of October and my baby girl is due at the middle to end of September; he has NEVER been away from me for maybe more than 2-3 hours bc I’m a SAHM. My mom or aunt will be watching him while me and my fiancé are at the hospital having the baby. Does anybody have any ideas on how to make it easy on him being away from me? I’m so concerned that he’s going to cry the whole time im away. We can always FaceTime but am worried that’s going to make it worse 🥺 seems like it’ll be harder on me than him but any ideas?????

Start taking more trips out of the house without him. He might be upset at first but when he realizes that you eventually come back then he should be ok. I don’t have any children yet but that’s what i would try.

Have him stay a night or two now starting ASAP to get used to it and take more trips away from him.

Can you start having days where he spends his days there to get used to it? Would also give you a break being so pregnant to get some rest?!

Having the same worries. My parents will look after my 2.5 year old daughter when I‘m in the hospital with hubby. I plan to let her go on to half day trips with grandma and grandpa to get used to spending more time with them. And I hope I can have a vbac so I can come home in 1-3 days which isn’t going to happen if I have a c-section. Can’t imagine not seeing her for days 😢

I honestly have no advice as I’m in the same situation. My little girl’s second birthday is 5 days after my due date. My grandma and aunt will have my little girl and I get emotional everyday when I think about it. I’m a mostly SAHM, I only work ten hours a week and it’s broken up by 3 days but even when I’m gone, she has my husband. She’s had two sleepovers there in the past but, it was less than 12 hours between us dropping her off and picking her up and it’s been almost 6 months since the last one. COVID has made her even more clingy since we don’t get to go to stores or interact with a majority of friends/family and she doesn’t get to go to her gymnastics classes every week. I’m stressing daily when I think about it. I was in the hospital for 5 days total with her and all I can do is hope this nugget comes sooner and we can go home ASAP. 😩
