How would you pronounce Eoin and Eoghan?

We're wanting to give our son a traditional Irish name, but I'm worried about how people will think it's pronounced. I won't say how it's pronounced yet. I want to see your interpretations!

I’d say the first one is Ian and the second one is pronounced Eegan? My friend just named her baby girl Saoirse (pronounced Sir-sha). I love Irish names (my husband is of Irish descent), but fear the way it will be butchered in Massachusetts.

Ee-ow-in and ee-oh-gan? I think it may be ian and Owen but that's how I read it. I like both names but the spelling is setting them up for alot of mispronunciation

Both are "O-in" since they are variant spellings of the same name. The gh is silent in Eoghan and eo is pronounced "owe". But most people don't know that so the spelling and pronunciation will get butchered frequently. I love Irish names but they can be rough to get right sometimes.
