Has anyone here had mono?

Hey y’all I have mono and also had pneumonia but finished my antibiotics on Monday. My throat has still been hurting and it’s been really red for awhile. I’ve been taking cough medicine to help coat my throat at night and keep a cough drop or peppermint in my mouth while I’m at work. Is there anything else that helps with it? Also how long did y’all have symptoms? It’s been about a month for me now 😫

I’ve never had it however I know a lot of people who have. Mono cans last for moths! Even once your technically better you can still be really tired and have symptoms for 6 months after

I had horrible symptoms and my doctor prescribed me a steroid and my symptoms immediately got better. my symptoms lasted probably about 2 weeks

Mono is the worst. I pretty much had a water bottle attached to me at all times and just drank water continuously. Nothing really helped except riding it out

Mono can last a while, but you can call your doctor to see if there’s anything else you can do. 
A warm tea with honey and lemon will also help your throat.

I had mono when I was 18 and only had a sore throat for a few days. It wasn’t that bad for me maybe call your dr and have them check again.

Everyone is different when it comes to mono, I didn’t even know I had it, until I went for some testing and they said I still had traces of mono. Every girl on the cheerleading squad got it ,because of Tiffany who had it, and we all shared the same bottle of water, she was in the hospital for three months with swollen spleen and the whole 9 yards and almost died, I didn’t even know I had it, but It did activate things that were dormant in me that I was a carrier for and I developed blood disorders and other things because of it. Everyone reacts differently. But it did kill my immune system completely and I no longer have fight or flight response, if I have anxiety or panic attacks, my body just attacks itself and I get sick with like seven different things all at once.￼￼ this was over 20 years ago.
