38 week appt / membrane sweep
I’m 38+4 and had an appt today. Since I’m hoping to have a VBAC, they did a growth ultrasound and cervical check. Wasn’t expecting such a comprehensive appointment but I went with it.
✅ Fluid levels look good.
✅ Baby estimated to be between 6.5 and 7.5 lbs (which I know could be way off at this point). My first baby was much bigger than they predicted 🤦🏽♀️ (I’m definitely assuming she’s on the larger end of that estimate...)
✅ Dilated 1-2cm and 70% effaced. Literally the exact same situation as my first baby, lol.
✅ She did a “light sweep” which didn’t hurt at all. I asked what she meant by “light” and she said she just couldn’t get all the way around because I wasn’t dilated enough but she was able to strip away a little bit.
Anyone else have a similar “light sweep” situation that worked?
The check was more uncomfortable than the sweep...
