Who do you expect your SO to put first?

If you're married, you put him first and he puts you first! You're building a family together, and your should be each others priority.
But if you're just dating, I'm okay with him putting his family a priority.

My SO and I aren’t married. But we’ve begun building our life together so my answer today is slightly altered from what my answer would have been last year. 
As of now, I expect him to put his mother first to the extent that her needs to do endanger our stability. So our bills and any income allocated towards reinvestment into our (income generating) projects, I expect to come first. But I also expect him to cancel our date if his mom needs something... or for him to adjust our nonessential budget if something genuine comes up. 
I say “genuine” because I would have something to say if I felt he was being taken advantage of. I believe we should be allowed to build a strong base so that when she actually retires we are in the best possible position to do as much for her as we can.

I mean I put his mother first... lmao she's a fucking saint.. like Mother Teresa has nothing on her.. shes incredible and has all but adopted me.. she looks at me like her own..
