Is anyone using a baby monitor just for sound?

I’m using the angel care monitor cause I’m paranoid for SIDS but it constantly wakes up me my baby cause if he hugs the side of the crib while sleeping the alarm goes off. Is it still necessary?

Mostly we just use a cheap Vtech sound monitor. I do have a camera but I really don’t use it

Just sound here. At first I was freaking out not being able to see my baby but you get used to it. I have it in the highest setting snd it captures faint sounds too. Once in a while I’ll peek into his room but otherwise only when he actually wakes up

I do have a video monitor as well, but I’m in the exact same boat with the angel care monitor! My son loves to sleep sideways at the top of the crib, so more nights than not the alarm goes off. He often sleeps through it, and I go in and slide him back to the middle of the crib. I know at this point I shouldn’t be so worried about SIDS but I’m just so afraid that somethings going to happen the night I stop using the monitor 😭

I have only used a video monitor for both babies. Lowest sound. I only wake when she cries.

I don’t know what the angel care monitor is but I have an owlet and a video monitor. I basically only use the monitor for sound. If she is in trouble, the owlet will sound the alarm and will hear it over the monitor. With or without the owlet, I don’t think video is that important but think sound is super important.

We have a video monitor that we shut off the video when we go to bed and just use the sound. I use the video part during the day and before we go to bed.

We use Nanit video and sound monitor but I keep the sound off at night and we also have the owlet on him. I’m so scared of SIDS so the owlet has been the best piece of mind. I can hear when my baby wakes up crying at night.
