My husband and I have just started our adoption journey! Weve been ttc for 3 years with 3 losses and knew we were always going to adopt one day, but decided now was a good time. Everything I've been reading has said private adoption is $30,000+ and were financially stable but dont have 30,000. Weve decided to go through the state instead and I spoke with a gentleman in our county and he gave us all of the starter information, informed us of the next steps and have been waiting awhile now just for our phone interview. I feel bad because I know I need to be more patient but its disheartening when you cant get through to anyone. I've called 5 other numbers for agencies in and around my county and feel so lost on the next step. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Weve dreamed of becoming parents for so long and this is feeling just as discouraging as pregnancy. Any advice for first time parents trying to adopt?
