How do you keep clean after pooping immediately following birth?

If you’ve had a vaginal birth, how do you clean yourself up after pooping? Do you wipe? Let me know!

Baby wipes. Shower as often as needed. I had a 3rd degree tear with my 1st and I showered a couple times a day for the first 2 weeks. The warm water promotes bloodflow and healing also.

Yes you can wipe. First I spray myself with the peri bottle they give you. Then I wipe with witch hazel wipes. If you dont have that you can get a bottle of witch hazel and pour some on a pad or tissue to wipe.

Due to third degree tear I was told to dab vs wipe. I used the peri bottle and took showers if that wasn’t enough.

I never had an issue wiping after a poop. For pee I used the peri bottle like a bidet and then patted dry with toilet paper. If you go choose to use baby wipes, just remember they aren’t flushable 😊
