Is measuting fetal heart rate in first trimester dangerous?

Hi, due to previous miscarriages I had two early scans at 6w4d (private) and 7w3d (EPU). There was a heart rate and everything looked good but they didnt want to measure the heart rate. I was told it is dangerous as it creates heat and can cause damage to the baby. But this forum is literally full of heart rate measurements at 6-8 weeks. So is it dangerous or not? Thanks!

I also had the same thing in the UK with a private scan I went to. They said we couldn't listen to the heartbeat but they could measure the heart rate without by taking measurements from the waves x

They say it can have adverse effects if it’s done too often. 
You can look at it and get the number but the waves so you can hear it are a tad different. My tech told me she doesn’t listen to the heart until at least 8wks.
