I’m freaking out!

I have this rash on my butt where my butt and leg connect. I went to see a nurse practitioner yesterday and she said that it could be shingles but she’s leaning toward herpes as she had never seen shingles below the waist before. I know it’s possible for you to have shingles there. This would be my first time with shingles or my first time with herpes down there. I’ve only ever had a cold sore on my lip like once a year. Does anyone have any experiences like this or have opinions? Sorry for the bad quality of the picture. It was hard to take a picture of. It’s a fairly large patch and has spread a little more on my butt since this picture. I’ve had chicken pox as a child and a cold sore on my lip so either is possible? 😭 Thank you
