Nightmare experience before appointment

Sara

Sorry for the long post.

So on Thursday I had a midwife appointment, we live over an hour away and I have 3 boys all under the age of 5 ( four and a half, three and a one year old) and because of covid they only allow me inside so my mom comes and sits in the van with my boys while I'm in my appointment. My midwives are great and the inside has awesome relaxing feel but it's not in the best location. So I'm inside waiting to see my midwife, they're running behind so I'm sitting sideways on the chair so I can see out the door. So I see my mom get out of the van and come around to the drivers side and open the side door to give my one year old some snacks and then I see her demeanor change and she opens the drivers door and I thought I saw movement coming from the front seat so I just leave my purse inside and run out to some guy in his 50s sitting in the drivers seat of my van and my mom yelling at him to get out. The van was running too since it was a really hot day(28°C) before I got out there the guy went to reach for the shifter to back up so my mom reached around him and took the keys, I'm so grateful for her. So I then get out 35 weeks pregnant and place myself in the door way and I start yelling at him telling him to get out of my van now or I'm going to call the cops. He tried saying that he was just sitting down and resting for a bit.. I was about to physically grab him and pull him out of my van when he got out on his own. He had no shoes on and took off down the street so after I make sure my boys are ok I go in and tell my midwives what happened and they right away call the cops with his description and what direction he was heading, they never came to talk to us so I hope they picked him up. I found out after that he had jumped in the passenger side and climbed over to the drivers side. My moms purse and phone were in the van so luckily he didn't try grabbing those. I'm going to have his face burned into my brain for a very long time, both my mom and I were so shaken up. And so were/still are my older two boys who understood enough to be scared. They're still bringing it up all the time asking me why he did that.

So then I have my appointment, at my last appointment the fundal height was measuring ahead and I have a history of big babies so I had an ultrasound between my two appointments so I find out that my baby is measuring in the 94th percentile (my first was 10lbs 7ozs and I'd rather not do that again.. lol) and that she is transverse..(great..) and of course my blood pressure was high but we all knew that would be the case. So now I have an appointment to go to labour and delivery on Tuesday to get a version done and I cant have anyone come with me.. my hospital only allows a support person after your considered in active labour. With my second I was supposed to have a version done, I showed up to the hospital to have it done and he had luckily turned overnight so I have no idea how painful/uncomfortable this is going to be but I'm just hoping baby Emma will decide to turn on her own before then 🤞

So this was just a nightmare with an appointment filled with not the best news. I have another ultrasound on the 6th and they're going to take those two readings and we're going to come up with a plan, most likely early induction.
