Medicaid and new insurance

Can job and family services through their system see if you’ve obtained private insurance? My new employer just gave me insurance and I have to report it to medicaid. There’s a short overlap period so I’m curious if they are able to actually see I just got coverage or not. Anyone work in this field and have an idea? Thanks
