Are there woman that have been in labor and didnt know it?

I know most say you will know so I was wondering about the other stories where you did not know for a while that it was actually labor and how you found out?

I slept through 3/4 of labor with my 3rd baby. Thought I peed myself in my sleep and just had a backache, woke up to take a bath, and noticed little bits of debris from amniotic fluid floating in the tub. I was going to wait it out before texting my husband to come home but before I could get dried off, contractions hit so hard I tore the trim from the doorway a bit from the wall while bracing myself. Called my OB and then my husband and he drove 90 the whole way to the hospital- which was an hour away. I dilated from a 3 to a 10 in less than 40 minutes. Didn’t even have time for intake papers. I pushed twice during one contraction and she was earthside 🖤

So I definitely knew I was in labor after my water broke because the contractions were intense 👀 but before that, I had no idea! I felt pressure and tightening here and there a day or two leading up to my actual active labor but nothing that stopped me from going to work, doing my normal stuff. When my water broke, everything went from zero to 100 and I delivered baby unplanned at home in 2 hours.

With my third pregnancy, recently gave birth 4 weeks ago. I thought I was just having Braxton Hicks and normal stretching  from carrying twins and just being soo huge. However when I went to my apt for my Doppler monitoring, I told them about it because they always ask how I was feeling. I was 34 weeks with twins and I was admitted during my appointment for over night monitoring and turns out I was in pre term labor. My water never broke, and I ended up being polyhyraminos which only occurs in 1-2% of pregnancies. And after draining the fluid from my stomach, it sent me into early labor and I had a c section. I also had both kidneys obstructed by both placentas also.

I had lost my mucus plug “bloody show” and I was having a lot of pressure on my lower back as if they were squeezing and letting go. I didn’t know there contractions I just thought I was tired. I slept through most the night but still woke up with pain. In the morning it got worse and spent most of the day home in labor without knowing 😭 I started timing when I was getting the pains and they were about 6 mins apart. Still wasn’t sure I was in labor bc it was my first and had no clue about back labor 😭 I then just went to the hospital bc I was getting nervous and I’m glad I did! I was already at 6cm when I got there! So it’s true, everyone kept telling me I would know when I was gonna give birth but I had NO clue lol
