Not June baby related! Just curious! What are your older kiddos doing for school this year? My oldest has always home schooled so nothing changed for us!

We’ve broke up for 6 weeks now for summer they will both go back to school in September. When we went into lockdown I had to homeschool them both. Then they started opening schools for some year groups my 6 year old went back to school but only for 2 days a week and the rest we homeschooled. My 9 year old hasn’t been to school since March. I can’t wait for them to go back in September! I feel so sad about how much they’ve missed out on. Although I know everyone’s in the same situation.

We will most likely be selecting the hybrid option! 2 days in school, 3 days virtual. Then they will alternate which days the kids go so that the school is always less than half capacity so they can social distance. 
I’ve been a teacher for 6 years and my son really thrives in the school setting. Virtual last year did NOT go well for him at all. Lots of frustration for both of us lol. So this has been an extremely difficult decision. 
He is high risk so we were going to keep him fully virtual but our state has actually gotten their rates down super low and we are considered a no-risk state now. So that’s what is making me more comfortable with the hybrid option.

The schools here are doing a mix of in person/virtual so schools are at no more than 50% capacity and masks are mandatory. My older boy is starting high school this year and in advanced classes so I really want him to be able to continue getting his normal education.

Do you work and homeschool? We’ve been really into the idea of homeschooling but aren’t sure if we’d be able to if I had to have a full time job

Our schools still aren’t sure what they are doing. They are doing k-5 back to school and 6-12 online. Because they claim younger kids are less likely to spread it which sounds so dumb!
