Plz give honest opinion

I had a D&C over 2 months ago. On 7/10 my beta HCG was 6.8. I tested shortly after and had the first test posted, then my period started. Had a 5 day period, ovulated on CD13 and am now 8dpo. I got two faint tests today, but I’m scared to accept it as I’m worried it may still be lingering hormones 3 weeks later from my last blood draw (even though my HCG should definitely be at 0 by now if not a new pregnancy. I’m going to retest over the next few days I just need something to put my mind at ease.

Is it even POSSIBLE this is still leftover from my surgery, even though my level was almost 5 before my period? Or is this likely a new pregnancy? I’ve had tons of the same symptoms I’m just scared to believe it and get my hopes up. Thank you for reading 🥺
