4 People in a 2 Bedroom?

Question

My partner and I have been house hunting for a larger home for us and our two children (3 & 4). We found a home we loooove in the perfect neighborhood with a fenced in yard that is in our dream area and a great price. However- it is only 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Which I hate. We ideally wanted 3 bedroom and 2 bath so we would def be making a sacrifice.😭 it does have a large basement that we could finish and then turn into a room and overall the house is double the size we have now even though it’s the same amount of bedrooms/bathrooms. I was thinking since the house is overall bigger and we would have more space maybe the room situation wouldn’t be as bad. Is it doable? At least for a few years? Our 3 year old is a girl and 4 year old is a boy so I know they can’t be roomies forever. Is anyone in a similar living situation?

If you can fix up the basement then I would say definitely go for it. My little brother and I shared a a bedroom until we were in middle school. Also, I don’t know your personal finances or what not but are you guys planning on this house being “it” for y’all or is there a chance that you will end up upgrading/moving in the next 10-12 years. The kids are still so young and it’ll be about 10 years before they are in high school and really need their privacy. If there’s any chance y’all will move before then, I really wouldn’t worry too much.

We have a 2 bedroom house that we are slowly finishing the basement on. My 4yr and 2yr old love being roomies and we will probably keep it this way for a few more years even when we finish the basement. A  bigger concern shouldn't be bedrooms but can you afford to finish your basement and how much it might be in the long run. We were quoted 40k if we weren't doing the work ourselves.

If you think you can afford to fix the basement in the next few years go for it. I lived in a three bedroom house, one bath with 9 people including myself.

My sister and I shared a room together all the way up till she moved out and went to college. We were very close growing up and  we still are.

They can share and they can share the whole time they live there. 
I grew up sharing a room with my brother and had no problems. At one point, it was 2 girls and 2 boys together in a room. No problems. They'll figure out privacy later on when they need or want it.

They can sgmhare. And actually share also "forever" also. I share with my bother until I moved put to university. No problem, we were and still are friends and sharing a room doesn't hurt that. Also we had one bathroom in our appartment also.
