What do they do to your baby after birth? I heard they drug test them? And other stuff we dont hear about? And what state did they do it in for you?

Ask your hospital. Ours did not drug test our baby. They bathed her with our permission, gave her vitamin k and eye ointment with our permission, tested her blood sugar because of her high birth weight, tested her hearing (again, all of this with our permission)

They don't drug test unless they suspect that you're using. They put them on a warm table, weigh them, do a heel prick for blood work (which I hate) and a vitamin k shot, test reflexes for apgar, listen to their heart etc next day they do a hearing test and pediatrician checks them.

Some hospitals test their meconium. Especially if you had tested positive for anything during pregnancy. I’m in NY I’m not sure if my baby was drug tested but I was tested each time I got bloodwork done it’s just routine.

My hospital drug tests all babies. I work there and am drug tested regularly and they still tested my baby. They also tested the umbilical cord. But other than that they did labs, a hearing test, a vision test, and a general exam. They also did the vitamin k shot and eye ointment (with my approval). They gave my baby her first bath (at my request) and we also had a lactation consultant visit us in the hospital.
