Has anyone been “allowed” to try for a VBAC with second child being born less than 18 months from first pregnancy?

I had a csection with my son August 2019. I was told by my OB that if I wanted to try for a VBAC, I had to wait until 18 months after my first csection. But I’m curious if anyone got pregnant before 18 months and had was allowed to try for a VBAC. 
I’m curious if I should see another doctor/midwife or if I should just continue with another csection.

My sister had a section Nov 2012 then had a vbac Nov 2013

Can’t speak for myself but my old manager had one at 15 months pp.

Mine will be 20 months apart. Hoping I’ll be allowed to try VBAC.  My first appointment is next week so I’ll have to ask more questions then.

I was 21 months apart and was allowed but with restrictions eg I had to go into labor naturally before my due date
