Milk in sippy cups?

When to transition completely from bottle to sippy cups? Are people doing it already? Are there any benefits on doing it early or waiting?

Currently I only use sippy cups for water and still do bottled for breastmilk and formula. My plan is to transition from the bottle when we transition to actual milk when he turns one.

My son prefers straw cups and we're working on the 360 cup to practice open cup style drinking. I breastfeed mostly but when I pump we do still give a bottle (mostly because I don't want the straw cup getting super filthy from having milk in the tiny straw, it's the munchkin weighted straw cup and the straw is very narrow and tough to clean, so we stick to water in there). We've used silicone sippy lids for my oldest too, Boon makes good ones. We put them on glass mason jars, only had a couple breaks ever when she dropped them out of the stroller onto the sidewalk.

By age of 1 they should try to be off bottles and transitioned to supply cups. AAP recommends before age 18 mo but a lot  of doctors are recommending 1yrs old. My boy takes both currently and we plan to fully transition at 1yrs old.

At our daycare on base they start transitioning to the cup around 7 months they do 1 bottle and another one every 2 weeks.

Not a fan of sippy cups at all. But fan of open cup and straw cups. We did open cup for a while and now are drinking from a straw cup. I am trying to transition from bottle to straw cup but she just isn’t there yet. So we are starting with some water and working our way up. She just loves her bottle.

We are completely on sippy. My dr recommended getting thrn transitioned at 6m so we started at 4m. Sippy during the day and bottle for comfort. As of 5 days ago we are off the bottle completely.

We transitioned to sippy cups quickly but mainly because my son has always refused bottles and will actually take a sippy 🙌🏻 I think they recommend they be off the bottles at a year but I think whenever you get to it is fine, no need to rush!
