Potty training?

I just cracked up watching a potty trained 9-month-old on Bravo. 😂😂🤣 One of the Housewives said she started potty training at 4.5 months. Have y’all heard of such thing? Is anyone else starting so early?

I have heard of people doing it and I think it’s total bullshit. If you stick a baby on the potty enough times a day they’re bound to go in it eventually. Doesn’t mean they’re potty trained. Hell, my 3 year old is just now starting to grasp the concept of using the bathroom. 
By the way I watch Potomac too! I was dying when Ashely was talking about getting Botox in her bootyhole and Karen said Botox can do everything.

So... kind of. This early it's definitely elimination communication ("EC") and not actual potty training, so saying your kid is potty trained at 9 months is definitely not going to be accurate ever. At 9 months, the best you'll get is parents and babies having a firm understanding of baby's signals for needing to go potty, and the parent will take the baby to the potty to go. 
When my 3 year old was 9 months old we started introducing her to the potty and doing some casual EC, mostly we would put her on the potty first thing in the morning after waking up and she'd be likely to go pee then, or sometimes right after naps or eating too. For us it's more about getting the baby used to the idea of going in the potty. We did this very casually, sometimes not even at all for a few weeks at a time, until my daughter was 18 months old, which is when we did our actual potty training. I plan to do the same with my son, starting to introduce him to the potty this month since he's pretty good at sitting up now.

At this age it is called elimination communication. It makes total sense once you read about so I would encourage you to do it. We have been doing it with our baby for a long time and it has benefited our diaper laundry a lot. Of course, we are not catching everything, but there are times in the day when we always catch something. She does not always sign, or at least I don’t notice it all the time, but other times it is very clear. Babies will learn and understand what you want and wait for you to give them a pottytunity. It is not for everyone, but it is definitely a very interesting concept.

The only person I've known to do this said her son was potty trained (before he could communicate) and then he regressed and it was SOOOO hard to potty train him when the time actually came because he learned he didn't have to communicate (because he was just being set on the toilet) so no he was never actually potty trained. 
I was his preschool teacher and potty training was so hard with him!!
