I would put them in my little disposable diaper trash bags, then in the trash.
I mean public bathroom trash cans should be changed daily, so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I created this poll because of something that happened at a local clothing store. A mom was confronted as she left the bathroom with her baby. The manager demanded to know if she had the diaper with her. The mom didn’t. She stated she had put it in a plastic bag and thrown in it the trash. The manager proceeded to publicly humiliate the mom and told her to dig it out of the trash, which she did. She was was a new mom and utterly humiliated. 
I have always thrown diapers away in public restroom trash cans. My baby’s needs will get met no matter where we are. 
The manager stated it was their policy. I wonder if it is also their policy for women to take used tampons with them? The manager apologized publicly, but took it down several hours later. People have been bashing this mom for saying she felt embarrassed and dehumanized. They are saying it is ridiculous to throw a diaper away in a public restroom.

Why wouldn't you? I don't use disposables, so maybe I'm missing something here about why it'd be wrong. I mean is it the smell? I can't recall a time when I've used a public restroom that didn't smell like literal shot already. I can't see how a dirty diaper is going to contribute much. 
I do, however, think it would be disrespectful to throw it in a trash can that has a sign above it asking you not to. Not sure what you're supposed to do in that case, though.

I do. I agree with you: that's like asking women to carry their bloody tampons with them. Also, I would've asked the manager to see me in writing where it states that in their store policy because I doubt it actually was a policy of theirs.

That’s the strangest thing I’ve ever heard (the story). Yikes. I feel so bad for that new mom. My daughter has had plenty of dirty diapers in public places and I’ve always thrown it away in the bathroom... that is where trash goes and like another poster said adults poop in the bathroom, lol. I do have those scented baggies I place them in just to be polite since a dirty diaper just sitting in the trash is smelly but it’s not required of course.
