When to change diaper

Question

I know this is an odd question. I have a 16 month old and change her diaper maybe every 2 pees or so. Basically I wait till the diaper feels a bit more full. Of course I change poo right away. But my friend with her 18 month old changes the diaper immediately after every pee. Just about every 30 minutes or so she’s changing the diaper. Is this how you’re supposed to do it? 😂😂🙈 Have I been doing it wrong for the past 16 months?

I’m a it depends on the situation mom. If we’re out and about and it’s barely wet nope not changing it. If he’s outside playing and is wet but not super wet nope not changing it yet. If we are inside and I see he’s peed I’ll change it. Luckily my child doesn’t pee every 30 minutes because I’m not changing it that much. He can be potty trained before that happens. My child has never and I mean never cared about sitting in his own pee or poo which is just weird and gross but he’s an odd child. I change poopy diapers as soon as I notice them. 
For the moms being nasty about us moms who don’t change our kids constantly be nice! We have things to do other than sit around and wait for our kid to wet their diaper and change them immediately. I don’t personally know a single mom who changes a kid every 30 minutes. The norm even at Daycare’s is every 2 hours unless there is an obvious wet or dirty diaper. And babies sleep all night in a wet diaper basically so what’s an extra 20 minutes going to hurt??

You're fine, I did the same thing and my LO didn't have any issues with diaper rash or anything and she's 3.5 years old and potty trained.

Well my baby is 14 months and doing alligator rolls during diaper changes and checks. As long as he doesn’t have a rash (and he never has yet) I let him go 2 hours between changes. If he minded sitting in pee he’d let me know, he minds diaper changes a lot more.

I'm a "you got one more pee" type. Why change the diaper everytime they pee, its a waste? If they can't stand to be wet potty training time...

The fact that some moms just leave their kids in wet diapers simply because “they’re designed to hold more” is insane to me. That’s so disgusting. Would you want to just sit around in your own urine all day? I’m not saying change them every 30 minutes, but if you know they’ve peed then change them.

I change my sons when it feels "full"
Sometimes he will just take it off himself .
Never had an issue with diaper rash.

I changed my children as soon as there was wetness.

I leave it if it's trickle/spotty. Full expression of her bladder/pee, I change it right away same with poop. My daughter has sensitive skin so wet diapers really irritate her.
