Is breastmilk scientifically proven to be better for babies development ?

Everyone keep telling me to try to breastfeed the baby but I’m struggling to produce so I’m supplementing formula. If I’m a week and I still don’t produce enough I might just give him formula exclusively. But I keep hearing that breast milk is better for the development?

From the reading I have done, it seems like there are some scientific benefits to baby in the short term, like the first few months and a slight reduction in breast cancer for mom. However most studies about breastfeeding are low quality, and most of the information learned from such studies is correlational, not causal, meaning the benefits associated with breastfeeding may be due to other circumstances and there’s no way to prove that some benefits are directly CAUSED by breastmilk alone. In general, there is good enough evidence to say that the benefits of breastfeeding are fewer allergic rashes, fewer GI issues, and possibly fewer ear infections in the first few months of life. This is information directly cited from Cribsheet by Emily Oster, a well-researched book about lots of baby topics. 
There are many proposed benefits of breastfeeding, but many of those are a bit overstated and not well-researched. Realistically, yeah it’s slightly better than formula, but formula (when prepared correctly with safe drinking water) is also a very good option for babies. No kindergarten teacher looks at her students and can tell which ones were breastfed and which ones were formula fed. Do whatever is best for your family.

Technically yes, but truly your baby will be just fine with formula! If you want to keep trying, definitely work with a lactation consultant, but I don’t think you need to feel any pressure to do so! Many people do formula and have happy, healthy, and smart babies :)

No matter what you choose, it will be ok.
A fed baby is a happy baby.
People will tell you all day long breastfeeding is better, and of course it can’t hurt the baby. But formula is going to be just as good.
Your baby needs to be fed. No ifs ands or buts.

There is definitely benefits to breast milk for baby. But, women have been using formula for years. Look at any given child on a playground. Are you able to figure out which child had breast milk and which didn't? No. Formula is wonderful and a fed baby is best. Do what is best for you and your baby. My girl had mostly formula in her life. She's happy, healthy, smart, and has hit all her milestones. Formula isn't bad. You're a great mom regardless of how you choose to feed your baby. Don't let anyone tell you different

A fed baby is best! Don’t feel guilty for not producing! Of course breast milk is better as it tends to exactly what the baby needs. But at the end of the day, a fed baby is best! I couldn’t produce enough with my first so we did formula, this time around I got some lactation supplements to see if I can breastfeed this time! Relax mama, you’re doing great!

Our bodies are amazing. They can make the baby, so my gut feeling would say, that our bodies breast milk is exactly what our babies need. BUT that does not mean that formula isn’t just as good! Whichever you chose is OK. Most important thing is that your baby eats and is fulfilled!

Oh here we go.... 
Idk but either way baby will grow healthy and be fed. It’s your choice. I’ve done both and you would never ever be able to tell which one was fed what. Formula fed babies still grow obviously and are healthy babies. That doesn’t stop their development or change it. My formula fed baby is definitely more healthy then my breast fed though. But that’s cause their own immune systems.. one is like me, never sick.. and the other is like daddy lol allergies and often sick too
