Would you choose another name in this situation?

We are going team green so don’t know the sex of baby #2. In our closest friendship group there are 4 guys- let’s call them John, Jack, Oliver and Greg (not real names). We called our 1st son ‘Jack’ because it’s our fav boys name (not after our friend). Our second fav boys name is ‘Oliver’. Would it be weird using 2 names from this close friendship group?

Name your kids whatever you want. The only thing that would stop me from using a name is if it was my brother’s or brother in law’s name. Everyone else I don’t care.

If you feel passionately about a name and as long as it's not going to constantly bother you that it's your friend's then I say go for it. It's what you will be calling your baby for the rest of its life, and you'll be spending more time with him or her than your friends. Plus your friends will probably feel honored.

If they're fairly common names, I don't think it's weird.

It’s hard for me to say without actually knowing the names. If it were 2 super common names like Mike and Matt, I don’t think it’s a big deal. But if the 2 names are like Silas and Hudson, I’d think it’s weird.
