How old is too old to breastfeed??

Question

The WHO recommends breastfeeding up to 6 months and additionally while learning to eat solid foods for up to two years and beyond*
The healthcare advice is vague when discussing the general age to stop breastfeeding because it's different for every woman obviously, but honestly what age seems appropriate to you ladies??
 Any and all advice or opinions would be awesome! My sister didn't breastfeed (chose not to and used formula) at all with her 3 kids lol so if that's you, that's all good too

Planned going for 2 years, but made it 1 year and 8 months. I started getting aversions to it around then and couldn’t keep going. Pregnant again and I’m going to try going just as long! 
The only person able to tell you how old is too old to breastfeed is yourself! I had so many people give me ‘advice’ as to how my 6 month old at the time didn’t need to have breastmilk anymore 🙄 as a mom you’ll know and feel what’s best for your child, go with your gut 👍🏻

I plan on BF/pumping until 2 years of age and if I have extra at all supplying past that I'll still give it. Breast milk is nutrition and so much more for a baby/child. I'd like to provide that as long as possible.

To me personally- over 2 is to much. I actually refuse to go over a year though. I’m 9 months in and hate it since the beginning. I won’t ever breastfeed again. Ever.

I'll breastfeed as long as I'm ok with it and my little one wants. (And how long pcos will let me). With my oldest it was 14 months - stopped because he wouldn't sleep and woke up 5-10 times each night. My youngest is 8 months and still going strong.

Breastfeeding until 1 with breastmilk being the primary source of nutrition is what I was told. We weaned at 13 months because I was drying up from a pregnancy, but we would have kept going if he wanted to. I think 2 would be my MAX because I was getting over it once we hit a year and I knew it wasn’t NECESSARY.

I breastfed for 14 months. My Obgyn and my sons pediatrician both recommended exclusive breastfeeding through six months (By exclusive I just mean only your milk.  Sometimes I had to pump milk). At six months, introduce solids and the baby will naturally consume about half as much milk. At a year I began to wean him so I could try for another baby (in some women they don’t get a period until they completely stop breastfeeding 😩).  A year in total is what was recommended to me by all medical staff I asked, more than that is great. If I wasn’t in a hurry to get pregnant again (I’m 37) I would have continued as long as my son wanted but no longer than two years.  Best of luck to you! I miss breastfeeding sometimes. It’s a great bonding experience that gives you feel good hormones and I found it very relaxing at times.
