Dealing with tantrums
I’m so exhausted, 36 weeks pregnant and my son this week has been having about 15 meltdowns everyday. Over. EVERYTHING! He kicks, smacks, screams, stomps his feet, arches his back, hits his head on the floor....I try to reassure and acknowledge his feelings, tried time out, ignoring him, letting him calm down. It’s so exhausting chasing him and having him kick my belly 30x a day when I try to pick him up and out him somewhere safe so he doesn’t hurt himself from flailing.
He is also teething and refusing to sleep
Lately so I’m thinking this is playing a part in this too. But when I try to put him down for a nap he fights me, or give him something for his mouth (ice, medicine, popsicle) he gets upset I have to force it when I didn’t want to in the first place.
My Husband has a dislocated shoulder so it’s been so tough. He tries to step in but he can’t grab or carry him from hurting himself. I know this is what toddlers do but I am almost to my breaking point I want to breakdown with him. How will I do this with a newborn on the way. Having so much anxiety thinking about it. :(
What have you mamas done, I know everyone has different ways to parent but I will try whatever at this point
