Hi ladies! Recently I have become fed up with my boyfriend playing video games with his friends. It’s been about 2 years and a half since we started dating but yet I still seem to never get his attention when it comes to games. I understand that he likes his time to himself and playing with his friends, but sometimes it feels like his games/time with his friends are much more important than me. I don’t want to take him away from his friends but just want to spend some time with him which is hard to do because we’re long distance. For example, he won’t even talk to me if he’s on a group call with his friends when he’s gaming nor even look at me. He’ll wave here and there but when I try to talk/say something, he won’t even hear me! There are times when I have my moments and I really need to talk to someone, so I call him but he won’t even tell his friends he has to go if he sees me crying. He just keep playing his games. I tried calling him once when I had a panic attack and was crying, and he just kept me on the phone still talking to his friends and playing his games. I try talking to him about it but he doesn’t really see what’s wrong. He tries to explain to me that he can’t just leave in the middle of a game, that he’s embarrassed to talk to me, or that he has to focus on his games. Are these red flags or just plain annoying pet peeves I have?? Does anyone else’s boyfriend do the same? Do you have any advice? Am I in the wrong for getting upset..?
