A newborn will not be able to get out of that. As soon as they can pull themselves up, then it would be a problem, but that would be a while.

Looks like mine does. It needs to be higher to reach baby. But once baby can start pulling up you lower to the next slot.

The highest level is intended for the newborn stage so you’re good! 🥰

You want it that high until they can sit up or pull up. Once they can do either you need to lower it to the next level immediately. 
If it’s lower than they’re ready for, you basically drop them into the crib. 😅
We switched my son to a toddler bed at 18 months because I was too short to put him down after he was asleep without dropping him a few inches.
