I disagree with the original poster. I think this is victim-blaming. Even if a child did all these things, they’re only KIDS. I’m not saying it should be posted, but I don’t think it “begins with you and yours”.

Teach your children internet safety. Teach them that there are predators out there, what they do and how dangerous it is to be dancing in a bikini ok tiktok at 12 years old.

And I guess the 2 year olds in sex trafficking were wearing crop tops and twerking and talking to older men right? What about the 5 year olds? Last I checked it wasn’t just teenagers being sold into sex trafficking. And wearing a crop top and twerking doesn’t mean you deserve to be raped and sold.

I mean yes you can take the steps to protect your children by what they post but at the end of the day if the kid is wearing a crop top or if they fully covered the kidnapper is going to take who they can no matter how they are dressed. I mean come one kids have been taken out of there own damn homes.

I agree with both of you.
Boundaries online are important.  Healthy boundaries mean you have gained enough trust with a person who you are sharing with.  You have built an authentic relationship and they have proven to you that what you share with them is safe.
Oversharing suggests unhealthy boundaries and sets up a trap/cycle of unhealthy reinforcement.  It’s actually not good for self esteem - because it gives your power and control away to others.
Shaming is not the answer for healthy self esteem, nor is blaming.
And over sharing is also not to blame for people who have ill intentions or are dangerous on the internet.  These people will exist and do exist and their behaviour is not ever the fault of the victim.

Agree.... my teenager will not be wearing crop tops, short shorts, or twerking ... especially not online. My mom taught me not to sit with my legs open, she didnt really want me sitting on mens laps, and i was taught not to be in a mans face even if he was family, and to cover my body  even in the presence if male family members. This help safe gaurd me and taught me to be aware if predatory behaviors and i will do the same with my kids.

I don’t think it’s victim blaming of the kids, I think it’s parent blaming for them allowing their kids to do these things....online...for the world to see. We know as adults there are sick, disgusting people in the world. Find a Save the Children hashtag and it will make you sick. Even in child appropriate clothing, pictures taken by typical parents and posted to social media sometimes end up on pedophile sites. I think the point of the post is if we want to save the children, we need to protect them better, as in not allowing them to post themselves online haphazardly and definitely not in a sexual manner with twerking. While I’d love to say society shouldn’t sexualize kids...there are pedophiles out there who are never going to stop doing just that because it’s literally what they’re looking for. Parents need to be aware of what their kids are doing, posting online, and sharing with the world. I won’t put anything with my son’s name on it where a stranger would see it and use it upon approaching him, if there are pictures on my FB of him, there is never identifying info (for example, first day of school post that says where he’s going to school or shows where the bus stop is). It absolutely comes down to the parents to protect their kids because kids don’t have the understanding to do so themselves at a young age. When my kids are teens, I will be hammering into their heads how easy it is and how accessible they are with criminals having access to online media such as FB and instragram. When we go away, I don’t even post pictures of it until we are back home if any at all.

I agree with her but I agree because I believe parents are responsible for teaching age appropriate behavior and supervising or limiting social media use. 
That behavior described isn't age appropriate. The best description I have read explaining girlhood sexuality in this regard was likening the girl to a kitten pouncing on blades of grass. They instinctively know the motions but are too young to understand the consequences of their actions. I'm not blaming the girls! I'm saying parents are the first line of defense needing to teach their children what their actions mean in relation to an adult world and exactly what they are doing.
