2 month check up and vaccines

stephanie

Hello all! My baby will be having his two month check up next week and we will be having him vaccinated. Just wondering how I can prepare baby for this? I was told to give him a little bit of infant Tylenol before the appt but how far in advance should I do that? An hour? 30 minutes? Also what about baby massage? I’ve been told not to touch the injection sites as they will be sore and I’ve also been told to massage the sites to aid in the dispersion of the shot and aid in blood flow and healing. Should I offer him some breastmilk after the shot or swaddle him? Should I try distracting him during the shots or just let the doctor run their course and let my little man cry? Will he be extra sleepy and have a fever afterwards? I’m sure my doctor will go over everything to watch for afterwards but i was just curious what other mommies had to offer.

ALSO- please don’t come for me in the comments about vaccines and vaccinating my baby. We are all entitled to our own opinion and I’m choosing to vaccinate my child based off of my experience and knowledge, so if you have something negative to say about vaccines please don’t even comment on my thread. TIA
