Are you requiring people have their flu shit and other vaccines before seeing your baby?

I'm a first time mom and have been thinking about this with everything going on, and I know it is the beginning of flu season so I'm curious what others are doing.

lolol flu vaccine isn’t the half of it. Most people won’t meet my baby until it’s warm enough to do it socially distanced outside in the Spring. Or a COVID vaccine is widely available and herd immunity is building up. 
We haven’t decided the “rules” for indoor visits with immediate family in the first few weeks or months after she’s born- i.e., timeline, masks, vaccines, quarantine, etc. TBD based on how our area is doing with covid.

Flu vaccine & whooping cough vaccine are both a must for anyone wanting to meet our baby

We require flu (which won’t be out until September) and TDap if you want to meet babe before 3 months. 
We get push back from 1 family set, but they are antivax across the board and don’t get to meet our kids until after 1 because of that.

I said no- but I never actually thought about the generic flu throughout all the Covid issues.... it’s probably a good idea though!

TDaP and Flu shot was what I “required” with my first. TDaP was still good for everyone by the time I had my second (16months later) and I think it’s still good for this one (3 years 3 months after my first), but ill have to check on that. Only my mom, dad, and possibly my older brother will be around when this baby is born. I’ll probably have them get flu shot before coming up.

Yes. My mom is anti vaccine (even though all of her kids are duly vaccinated 🙄). I told her she had to be up to date on her flu and whooping cough and she fully complied without an argument.

I think my brother’s family (two little boys) have forgone getting their MMR and other childhood vaccinations, so flu/TDaP are honestly the least of our worries with them. We might be having a conversation telling them they can’t meet baby until he’s a year old, which I’m absolutely dreading. And we’re going to be requesting that grandparents and any other houseguests get tested for Covid immediately before coming to visit and/or quarantine prior to visiting. Otherwise, we’ll be praying for unseasonably warm weather in late November to let friends come and see baby outside from a safe distance!

Just the whooping cough vaccine, but only allowing grandparents and my sister to see baby once he’s here.
