Should I start to use tampons?

Is it normal for me to preferred pads over tampons

It’s completely normal. I’m not one for tampons either. I find them uncomfortable and the risk for TSS doesn’t seem worth it. You should use whatever product that is comfortable for YOU. If you think you’d want to try something other than pads I have friends who like the Diva Cups. I’ve heard they’re comfortable and rather sanitary as well. Hope this helps.

When I used pad I couldn’t imagine using tampons. Then when I used tampons I couldn’t imagine going back to pads. Now I use a diva cup and haven’t used cotton products since. 
When I used tampons I preferred U kotex because of the wider weave of the string (I was always nervous using thinner ones especially early on.)
