I’m 7 weeks and love Greek food! but not sure about the feta cheese now - some articles say it’s fine if pasteurized but others say no entirely ?

One of my cravings while I was pregnant was Greek salad... no lie, I ate it probably 2x per week, and that was holding myself back lol
It’s all fine as long as it’s pasteurized, which most cheeses sold in grocery stores are now.

I ate a whole bunch of the other soft cheeses (I love dry pressed cottage cheese), helped to raise my calorie intake and protein 😅 the worry is bacteria, but pasteurised cheeses hold a very low risk.

I’m 27w4d and I had ate it like crazy until the second trimester when I just couldn’t stand it anymore. My Doctor said it’s fine as long as it’s pasteurized, which I’m pretty sure most of the stuff in the stores are.

If you’re in America, it’s normally fine as cheese has to be pasteurized. The only time it could not be is if you go to a SUPER fancy restaurant that imports cheeses.
